Interview with Viktoria Soltesz at the Global Islamic FinTech Forum by Adel Bhurtun at Web3TV

In this interview, Viktoria Soltesz was hosted by Adel Bhurtun at Web3TV.

Viktoria explained why she founded the Soltesz Institute and what problems it solves. She pointed out that in most companies, people making decisions about payments and banking aren’t trained for it. Accountants are often asked to handle checkout UX, API integrations, or compliance—even though none of these topics are covered in finance degrees or MBAs.

Through her consultancy work with PSP Angels, Viktoria has seen how this lack of knowledge creates serious issues. Companies end up with frozen funds, failed banking relationships, or setups that can’t scale. Many problems could have been avoided with better training.

That’s why The Soltesz Institute was created.

The platform offers the only CPD-accredited courses which are focused entirely on payments and banking. It teaches how banks think, what licenses actually mean, how to assess providers, and how to build a setup that’s both compliant and practical, and much more.

The Institute offers free resources and also provides private training for institutions that need more support.

Viktoria also talked about her book, Moving Money – How Banks Think, which explains why banks act the way they do and why so many international transactions fail. She reminded the audience that payments and banking are not just finance topics—they touch compliance, operations, tech, and risk.

When asked about AI, Viktoria said it’s a useful tool but shouldn’t replace expert advice. You still need to understand the system, especially when your business depends on it. AI can support you, but it won’t tell you who holds your funds, or how to avoid getting blocked.
